SWALLOWS REST
Swallows Rest is the
more recent original part of the
Cottage conversion being built to extend The Old Shippon
as the farm expanded in the 1930’s.
Swallows Rest has a large open
Kitchen
/ Dining area and Living
Room with open ceilings over
12 feet high
providing a spacious
and comfortable main living area.
The original
wooden beams have
been retained and are one of the
interior features
common to both of
the Cottages. There is an adjoining Double
Bedroom and
Shower Wet Room with Toilet.
The Lounge opens out onto an enclosed large
and lovingly maintained Patio Garden Area with
table and chairs.
Both the interior floor and external patio has been laid in Indian Flagstone providing a natural mix of colours and patterns giving a magnificent warm effect. You can even spot the odd fossilized plant in the patterns of the flagstones. A 42” Digital TV is mounted onto an exposed red brick wall providing another one of the many features of the property and there is the added convenience of a Blu Ray DVD Player ensuring that it is very easy to sit back in the sofa, switch off, relax and enjoy the surroundings. |

The modern design
Kitchen provides all of the amenities you would expect to find at
home whilst not interfering with the Cottages’ traditional feel. A skylight mounted in
the roof just above the Kitchen area provides natural light
throughout the day. However at night the dimmer controlled up lighting
combined with the interior features and the high ceilings
truly make the natural colours in the living space come alive. |

The Bedroom is large and spacious
with a double bed, fitted wardrobes, dressing table with a mirror,
and bedside cabinet. One of the leather sofas in the lounge is a metal action double Sofa Bed which is as comfortable as a normal bed. Swallows Rest can therefore sleep up to 4 people if required and is as comfortable for 4 as it is for 2 people. The other Cottage, The Old Shippon, can sleep 2 people. The
open feel extends into the design of the Shower Wet Room – no
shower cubicles or curtains here to restrict your movement or space.
